Bigfoot research can be approached from many different angles and perspectives.

Research can take place right in your home. This type of researcher is called an analyst. Finding information on the web by reading reports, analyzing photo and video evidence and gathering information on a variety of Bigfoot related issues.

Field research takes place in the field, or where there is purported Bigfoot activity. This is where physical evidence can be obtained in the form of photos, plaster casts of footprints, or actual contact in the form of an encounter. Field research is much more than just evidence gathering. Tactics are used in the field to try and lure a creature or creatures into closer proximity for evaluation.  Field research tactics vary greatly throughout the Bigfooting community. Examining and obtaining evidence in the field is the goal. Pay close attention to your surroundings. Looking for possible pathways, structures, tree-breaks, nests, footprints, scat, and bedding areas. Turn on your ears!  Screams, howls, whoops, gibberish, wood-knocking, rock-clacking, whistles and growls are all tell-tale signs that a Bigfoot is nearby. What's that nasty smell?  Many reports have stated that during an encounter an awful smell was present. Click here to view possible evidence left by Bigfoot in the field.
